Nobokontho Desk: The SIAL Food Fair 2024, one of the world’s most prestigious food exhibitions, has kicked off in Paris, France, drawing participants from across the globe. This year, for the first time, Bangladesh’s City group is among the exhibitors, sharing the stage with internationally renowned brands.

With over 2,000 companies from various countries participating, SIAL offers a dynamic platform for showcasing products and facilitating direct business-to-business interactions with influential global buyers. Held in the vibrant capital of France, the fair provides a key opportunity for companies to establish international trade relationships and expand their market reach.
France’s Minister of Agriculture, Anne Geneverde, officially inaugurated the five-day event this morning. Speaking with officials at City Group’s booth, there was palpable excitement about the company’s debut at the SIAL Food Fair. Representing the company at this major international event are Lutful Kabir Shaheen as Business Development Director, Finance and Commercial Director Tanveer Haider Pavel, and Mehdi Hasan as Head of Export and Finance expressed pride in their participation, emphasising the significance of this milestone.

In discussions with the City Group team, they expressed their excitement about participating in the fair for the first time. Their primary objectives are to ensure the highest quality of their products and establish a strong presence in the European market. They also aim to popularize City Group’s product lineup at the fair includes well-known brands such as Quick Bite, Teer, Bengal, and Candy.
The Business Development Director Lutful Kabir Shaheen shared that the company has not only met domestic demand but is now well-positioned to export its products globally. This year, they focus on confectionery and bakery items, highlighting their commitment to innovation while ensuring nutritional value.
The fair is expected to attract over 300,000 visitors, as City Group is optimistic that their first appearance at this global event will yield valuable experiences and potential partnerships.
